As racecar drivers struggle and fight to make their mark, one thing that many of them turn to for income is instructing.
Recent IndyCar star Dario Franchetti used to instruct in Europe, former drivers get into the act as well with such schools as Derek Daly Driving Accademy and the Skip Barber Racing School.
When Jon is not strapped into a car testing its limits, or going wheel to wheel at triple digit speeds, he can often be found at various driving programs and driving schools.
Jon first started instructing as the SCR-SCCA novice driving instructor, from there he used his SCCA National License to teach at SCCA club racing schools. Jon has signed off almost two dozen new SCCA drivers in cars ranging from Showroom Stock to Formula Atlantic.
Once Jon became known for his expertise out of the car he was able to reach outside of the SCCA. Jon started instructing students in the Porsche Club of America, Historic Sportscar Racing, and Ferrari Club of America. He also began instructing for Turn One Motorsports track day program at Carolina Motorsports Park.
