After a game of musical cars, Jon has settled in to co-drive the
Mongoose Motorsports
Boxer4Racing/Continental Tires Subaru Impreza WRX STI in this year’s One Lap of America with Steven Rankins.
“This has been a trying week for me,” Krolewicz said. “I spent about five days working on theMongoose Motorsports GTP but it wasn’t to be,” he said about the car that had transmission issues keeping it from running.
“Rankins asked me to come along, which is really awesome, we are longtime friends and I like being able to team up with him for events.”
Krolewicz and Rankins will be bringing along Boxer4Racing owner Dale Teague as a transit driver and chief mechanic in their bid for a top-ten and Mid-Priced sedan class win.

Krolewicz to drive Koni Challenge Series at Daytona
Jon Krolewicz will be joining up with SDS Performance Racing for the Grand American Roadrace Series Koni Challenge 3-hour race at Daytona on January 26.
Krolewicz will co-drive with Derrick Reade in the ST class of the Koni Challenge series in a Dodge Neon SRT-4.
“I am really excited about getting together with SDS and pairing up with Derrick,” Krolewicz said. “Grand Am and its series are getting stronger each year, and being able to participate in the inaugural event of the Koni Challenge Series is going to be a kick.”
SDS Performance Racing is owned by Steve Sliwa and Derrick Reade and is based out of Daytona. SDS campaigns the SRT-4 in the Koni Challenge Series, and SCCA T2 class competition.
Krolewicz is entering 2007 with good momentum. In 2006 Krolewicz was crowned NASA National Champion in TTU, Winged Warrior Grand Champion, a third place in One Lap of America and an overall win at the Evo Tuner Shootout.
“Driving for AMS the last couple years was a blast, I loved driving their Evo super car, and I hope I can take the momentum of 06 into next year.” Krolewicz said.
Jon will test with SDS at Daytona on Jan. 4 – 6 of next year.
Jon heads west
Jon is loading up the wagon with an evil evolution and heading west this week to fight for top honors in the Super Street Magazine Time Attack.
Krolewicz will drive the 650hp Time Attack car at the third Super Street Magazine Time Attack at Buttonwillow Raceway in Buttonwillow, CA Nov. 8.
“I am excited about running this event,” Krolewicz said. “I think that we can carry the momentum of a good year into this event and do well.”
This year has been the first for a full effort into turning both right and left for AMS, with top finishes and track records across the country.
Earlier this year Krolewicz piloted the AMS Lancer Evo to the overall and unlimited class win at the evolutionm.net Evo Tuner Shootout, brought home a NASA National Championship in TTU.
Other entries at the Super Street Time Attack next week should include the Cobb Tuning STi, Zero Sports STi, and Super Street Time Attack record holding driver Tarzan Yamada.
Jon and AMS win national championship
Last weekend Jon piloted the AMS Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII to the 2006 NASA TTU National Championship at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
Jon led TTU every competition session and set the fastest time of the weekend for the entire Time Trial group with a lap time of 1:34.366 at an average speed of 91.558 mph.
"It really was a great week," Jon said. "The AMS car ran pretty much flawless, and while other teams had to work on their cars just to get them on track we were able to make ours faster."
Jon outran a multitude of cars, including a Caterham 7, a pair of highly-modified Lancer Evolutions and a Subaru WRX STI to take the top step of the podium.
Leading up to the Championships Jon captured two NASA wins, a fastest time of the weekend honor and set a track record at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL.
For the year this brings AMS and Jon's win total to three major events. Earlier this year Jon captured the Winged Warrior Performance Challenge in Indiana and the Evo Tuner Shootout in South Carolina. Next up for Jon and AMS is the Super Street Time Attack at Buttonwillow Raceway in Buttonwillow, CA November 8.
Jon drives AMS Evo to win in the “Winged Warrior II” Charity Event in Indianapolis
Heat waves behind the AMS Evo fit right in at an airport and the jet engines
Jon carried the momentum of One Lap of America into the “Winged Warrior” charity event in Anderson, Indiana this weekend by winning overall.
The event was made up of a drag race, slalom, skidpad and autocross. Each event would be used to award points, and the highest scoring car was determined the winner. At press time, Jon had the fastest time of the day in the autocross, fourth in the skidpad, and third at the drag race. Slalom results had not been tallied yet.
“This event was a blast,” Jon said. “getting to run the quarter mile was awesome, since I don’t get to do that often, and the 11.27 that we ran was my fastest official pass ever.”
The 500-wheel horsepower Evo was also a handful for Jon in the slalom.
“That was pretty scary, doing something north of highway speeds and steering with the throttle.”

The Winged Warrior Performance Challenge was initiated by Dr Kevin Butterfield in 2002 as a small toy donation charity for the patients at a local children's hospital. Over the years this small charity has grown into an automotive performance shootout, car show, and spectator event for the greater benefit of these same children.
Jon finishes third in 2006 One Lap of America

Jon drove the AMS Evolution VIII to third place overall and was the highest placed car in class in the 2006 Tire Rack Cannonball One Lap of America Presented by Car & Driver.
The car, a 600-horsepower 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was crewed by Martin Musial, Ray Krolewicz and driven in competition by Jon Krolewicz.
The team traveled 4200 miles in the 8-day event, drove through 17 states and competed in 17 events. Their finish was the highest ever for a Mitsubishi, and tied the highest place finish ever for a Mid-Priced Sedan class car.
Jon is very happy with the results given the level of competition which included a twin-turbo 1000 horsepower tube-frame Viper, and the Hennessey Viper. Hennessey produces the world’s fastest and highest horsepower Vipers.
“I look at the week, and the cars we were up against and I am amazed at the company we played in with a four-door sedan,” Jon said.
The 2006 One Lap of America event visited sites in eight states ran on nine different road courses and an asphalt oval. The scheduled drag race was canceled because of rain. Event conditions varied from temperatures in the 80’s in Louisiana to temperatures in the low 40’s and raining at Road America in Wisconsin.
A typical day for Jon and the AMS team started at 7am with a check of the car after the previous nights drive, a time trial at 8am, a time trial at 1pm, and then packing up to drive overnight to the next site at 1:30.
During the week the Jon ran steady, gathering good top-ten finishes in each event, and putting themselves in a position to move up when the top guys pushed each other to the breaking point.

In order to bring the events to AMS and compact car fans that are not able to make it out to watch, AMS will be producing videos from each event, and plan to bring the car out to major car shows such as Nopi Nationals and SEMA.
