Jon Krolewicz: Competition Driver - Transit Driver - Media
Jon Krolewicz has been racing for 16 years and 2008 will be his fifth "One Lap of America". Jon’s experience ranges from karts and showroom-stock automobiles up to Le Mans Prototypes.
One Lap will mark one year that Jon has been working with Mongoose Motorsports – a year that has seen a fastest time at the London Cobra Show autocross while driving a Grand Sport Replica, two class wins at the 2007 Run N’ Gun kit car national championships, and a trip to Germany where he drove a Grand Sport Replica for the German TV show D-Motor.
When he isn’t competing, Krolewicz operates SeatTime Driving Days – a track day program where his customers learn to push the limits of their own cars at speed on a track, or he can be found instructing private students.
In addition to driving, Jon has a degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina, and he will be updating this site with a daily write-up including pictures and video.
Ray Krolewicz: Transit Driver - Logistics
Ray Krolewicz brings racing experience when he comes to One Lap, not on four wheels, but on two feet. In addition to being a school-teacher, Jon’s dad is an ultra marathon runner – meaning more than the 26.2 mile marathon distance.
When not standing at the front of a classroom, Ray specializes in 62-mile, 24 and 48 hour foot races, has won numerous national championships and held the American record for the longest distance covered in 48 hours – well over 200 miles - three times.
Because of his ability to time all of the cars in a run group on one stopwatch, Ray has been nicknamed the “human stopwatch” by fellow One Lapper Dale Seeley. Often Ray will know the results before the officials release them.
This will be Ray’s third “One Lap” event, and his ability to go long periods of time without sleeping and being able to plan pacing, stops and timing for what amounts to a week-long endurance race pays off in a big way.
