Mongoose Motorsports Competition
Mongoose Motorsports, based out of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, builds and sells Grand Sport and GTP replica "kit cars."
To reach their goal of becoming one of the leading replica car constructors, Mongoose will prove the ability of the Grand Sport and GTP on race tracks across the country. This site will detail, where, when and how Mongoose Motorsports races its cars and the trophies collected in the process.
Races include events like One Lap of America, the NASA National Championships and the Kit Car "Run N' Gun" - diverse events where speed, endurance, handling and longevity are paramount.

The Events
In 2008, Mongoose Motorsports will be proving the performance of their cars by attacking a variety of events and formats with their GTP and Grand Sport models.
The events will test street drivability, endurance, speed and handling. They will be run at sea level and at altitude. Their competitors will include some of the best drivers the country has to offer, and formidable competition from manufacturers like Dodge and Ford represented by such ground rockets as the GT and Viper.
Below is a description of the events and formats Mongoose will heed the call of in 2008.
Time Trials
Sometimes racing isn't about going wheel-to-wheel, but about seeing just how quickly
you can get around a road course. Many clubs, including SCCA and the Corvette Council
run Time Trials. NASA, the National Auto Sport Association, holds its annual Time Trial
National Championships at Mid Ohio and attracts competitors from all over the country
each September.
One Lap of America
The modern-day Cannonball run, this annual event gives a team the chance to prove
their car's speed on a variety of tracks, including road courses, ovals and a drag strip
while maintaining its ability to be driven around the US in normal traffic
conditions.
Run N' Gun
For many kit car enthusiasts the joy they get from their cars comes from waxing them
and showing them off, and the most dangerous drive they see is the drive to the local hang
out. Others prefer to play a little harder with their toys. For them, the annual Kit Car
"Run N' Gun" could be considered the national championship for home-built autos.
This triple threat event - competitors compete in a drag race, autocross and time trial -
attracts the fastest of the kit car enthusiasts.
Hot Rod Magazine Top Speed Challenge
The west coast has the Bonneville Salt Flats and the east coast has the Laurinburg-Maxton
Airport. Hot Rod Magazine and the East Coast Timing Association have teamed up to
bring land speed racing to North Carolina. This event can give real-world results and magazine
coverage for the top speed of the GTP.
Track Days
Track Days are designed to give enthusiasts a chance to push their cars to the limit in a
safe, controlled environment and socialize with fellow car guys (and girls). For Mongoose,
track days will give the chance to test at new tracks, test new developments, and show off
the GTP and Grand Sport.
Autocross
On the lower-speed end of the motorsports spectrum but higher on the handling end, exists
autocross. In autocross drivers compete by driving their cars through a course made up of
traffic cones while being timed. In 2007, Jon Krolewicz drove the Mongoose Motorsports Grand
Sport to a win against a field of Cobra replicas at the London Cobra Show
Autocross.
