Jon Krolewicz is teaming up with AMS and Martin Musial to drive the Automotosports 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII in the 2005 Tire Rack Cannonball One Lap of America Presented by Car & Driver. Jon's dad Ray Krolewicz is also going along for the ride to help with the overnight drives.
Automotosports, one of the countries premier tuners, is based out of Chicago and has the quickest non nitrous Mitsubishi "Evo VIII." Prior to now AMS has been drag race only, and their Evo runs a 10.11 second quarter mile at 141 mph.
One Lap of America is an annual event where competitors drive street vehicles from track to track where they compete in time trial competitions. This year’s One Lap will take eight days, and competitors will drive 3700 miles through 16 states. Competitors will get points for finishing positions in 20 competitions on nine different road courses, a skidpad, a drag strip and an oval.
